Year of the Takeout Day 73: Sing Hing
Spring Roll and Shrimp Roll from Sing Hing (576 Grand Street, 718-388-0446)
Sing's spring roll, at $1.50, is best described as hot, gelatinous cabbage and carrot shreds stuffed in a thin, deep-fried crepe. The $1.50 shrimp roll, however, is not much different from its eggy variety. Both are quite passable -- and make for a good, greasy snack.
