Zengo to Host First Weekly Tuesday Tequila Tasting Tonight
The Latin-Asian fusion behemoth that is Zengo has been touting its 400-strong collection of agave-based spirits since before its official opening last week. Tonight, it will host the first of a weekly series dubbed Tuesday Tequila Tastings in its basement tequila bar, La Biblioteca. Leading tonight's event will be the brand ambassador from Don Julio; upcoming weeks will feature such haciendas as Siembra Azul, Herradura, Partida, and Milagro. The cost of $15 per person includes a flight, guided tasting, and discounts on bottles. But the agaveducation doesn't end there.
La Biblioteca is lined with tequila texts, so that patrons can research what they're drinking, if they're so inclined (thought it would be surprising if, after a few glasses of reposado, they were). In keeping with the scholarly theme, tequila lockers allow customers to store their rarer purchases for up to six months. And bottle service comes a with housemade sangrita or bar kit so that you can experiment with making margaritas yourself. Just make sure you don't matriculate all over yourself.
