Hundreds of protesters opposed to the fighting in Gaza took part in a large rally at 42nd Street and 2nd Avenue in Midtown Manhattan on July 25th, 2014. The protests began earlier in the day near Foley Square, moving north into the evening before finishing in front of the Israeli Mission at 42nd Street and 2nd Avenue. During the march, several protesters sprayed fake blood on the Israeli Discount Bank. The large numbers seemed to catch the NYPD by surprise, resulting in a level one mobilization to respond to the crowds. While the march was largely peaceful, there were several arrests.
