Chocolate, Brooklyn Style

1 of 31

In 2005, Rick and Michael Mast started making handcrafted chocolate out of their apartment in Brooklyn. What initially started out to be a hobby for the two brothers quickly evolved into a self-made craft chocolate company. In addition to their single-origin chocolates and in-house blend, Mast Brothers Chocolate also provides an array of chocolate bars that combine various flavors combinations- all of which maintain the perfect balance of innovativeness and simplicity. The company sources from regional farmers and organizations for their quality ingredients-- ranging from Maine Sea Salt, Anderson Almonds, Stumptown Coffee, and many more. A signature element to their brand is the beautiful wrapping paper that the bars are hand-packaged in. Rick and Michael originally experimented with Italian papers, and moved forward onto creating their own series of illustrated wrapping papers. Their retail shop and factory is located in Williamsburg and is open to the public for tastings and purchasing their various chocolate goods.
