On February 25, a Carnival Imagination cruise ship full of booze and bands--including Surfer Blood, the Vivian Girls, the Black Lips, Ian Svenonius, and more--departed from Miami for a three day rock and roll adventure to the Bahamas and back.
The first night of Williamsburg Fashion Weekend, held Friday at Glasslands, featured designs by King Gurvy, Dani Read, SDN, No Name Collective, Lana Weiss, and Mark Tauriello. It bore no resemblance whatsoever to Manhattan's Fashion Week--which was the idea, of course.
Fedora, a new West Village restaurant, follows in the tradition of Montreal's Au Pied de Cochon, where a hog-happy, lard-intensive menu transforms every part of the pig into mousses, grills, croquettes, roasts, salads, terrines, sausages, tarts, and fry-ups. Read more here.
At Graffit, a new eatery near Lincoln Center, foam decorates many plates, alongside "olive oil texture," "bell pepper caviar," and "Tio Pepe Fino air." It's run by Madrid's Jesús Núñez, a former graffiti artist. Read more about it here.
