Jeepney's Chori Burger Wins the 2014 Battle of the Burger

Jeepney (201 1st Avenue), a Filipino restaurant in the East Village, won Time Out New York's 2014 Battle of the Burger competition on Thursday August 7, 2014 at the South Street Seaport. Created by Miguel Trinidad the Chori burger is made from half beef and half longganisa sausage, and topped with banana ketchup, atchara (a Philippine pickling made from papaya, carrot slices, julienned ginger, bell pepper, onion and garlic), as well as soy sauce and garlic aioli, and served on a soft challah bun.
