On May 4, New York lost one of its own when Beastie Boy Adam Yauch lost his fight with cancer. Yauch, also known as MCA, helped put Brooklyn hip-hop on the map before making his name as a humanitarian, filmmaker, and elder statesman of the genre. Over the weekend, New York paused to remember one of its favorite sons.
