Cat Glennon displayed 'Embodiment / Consumption' an entirely ephemeral and fully edible masquerade experience with an array of sweets, fruits, veggies, and breads reconsidered as wearable wigs, masks and accessories. Attendees will additionally be treated to new works based on previous performances. "Anyone will let you photograph them if they are wearing a costume," Glennon says.
HOTEL (796 Broadway in Brooklyn) an arts space in Bushwick, again took part in Bushwick Open Studios, over the May 31-June 1 weekend, presenting the studios of several artists: Rahul Alexander, Nesta Mayo, Matthew Brownell, Cat Glennon, Dave Grois, Tora Lopez, Tyler Lafreniere, Marian Lorraine with Austin Ferrier, Ken Madore and James Reeder.
Now in its eighth year, Bushwick Open Studios -- presented by volunteer group Arts in Bushwick -- bills itself as New York's largest open studios event, a "celebration of our neighborhood's vibrant community and local art scene is free and open to the public."
