700 people, seven bands, and one long taco line on the Gowanus canal: celebrating the nation's birthday with Ponytail, Apes, and a masked Gavin McInnes.
Way uncool. And not in a good way. Rebecca Smeyne, ever here of editing? In both form and content this is the worst VV picture gallery ever. Better luck next time.

i think these photos are pretty cool, esp the ponytail ones! goes on a bit long, but shouldnt' the voice be editing? i don't know it's not my scene

Mary from NY -- you ever hear of editors? The photographer had zero control over the editing of this slide show. Please understand how things work before you throw around such bile.

wow
i do wonder if it's actually as unappealing as it looks
you all, who brought us Sylvia Plachy
Comment by polyfrom brooklynon Jul 14th, 2008, 10:01 am
what's unappealing? hipsters? the bands? i know this photographer from flickr and her style acutally is a lot like sylvia plachy, mixed in with a bit of diane arbus and far more complex than the other crappy party photos on here.

It's not true that the editor has total control over what is published. The photographer decides what to give to the editor in the first place. For all we know the editor did edit out the bad stuff, and this is what was left.

there's some very good photos in this slideshow, there's just too many photos of the same things -- too many photos period.
