A NYPD Officer Shoves a Ferguson Protestor and is Mobbed

by Nick Lucchesi | Monday, November 24, 2014

NYPD on scooters were attempting to herd Ferguson protestors on 6th Avenue on Monday, November 24. At one point, a team of scooters was trying to get through the congested crowd. This officer shove the woman in the gray sweatshirt and backpack, which caused this flare-up. (Unfortunately, it's not on-camera here.) The woman jogs ahead after being shoved by the officer and puts her hands up immediately. The officer is mobbed by a crowd who saw him shove the woman in the back. He accelerates for a moment but is eventually stopped by a mob of protestors, and gets off his scooter completely. This was one of several clashes -- although most were verbal in nature -- between police and protestors, although one protestor was arrested for throwing fake blood on NYPD Commissioner Bill Bratton.
