A River Called Titas
Dir. Ritwick Ghatak (1973). The great, tormented Indian filmmaker Ritwick Ghatak returned to his Bangladesh home to make this raw, borderlineincoherent tale of a kidnapped bride, a dying river and a ruined culture. The movie might have been ripped from Ghataks insides; his pain is everywhere apparent.
