A Touch of Zen
Dir. King Hu (1975).
The first hour of Hus most elaborate martial arts epic keeps the spectator as nonplussed as the hero. But a pair of flashbacks explain all and, from then on, the film is a series of spectacular set pieceswith Buddhist monks leaping in the air, dive-bombing out of trees, executing pinwheel bounces, and generally treating the good earth as their trampoline.
