Let's get the bad news out of the way. It is true that Los Fabulosos Cadillacs won't be playing at this year's Latin Alternative Music Conference and, yes, our hearts are broken—but the show must go on! This little conference that could, 10 years ago, actually did, and has brought the East Coast the best of alternative Latin music each summer, like Café Tacuba, Manu Chao, and many others, while also hosting a slew of panels on the Latin music industry, social-networking parties, and indie showcases. This year, the conference includes performances by Argentine singer Juana Molina, Brazilian funk-pop artist Curumin, Mexican alt-pop singer-songwriter Natalia Lafourcade, and, closing the conference, Calle 13.
