American Century with Rita Dove and Special Guest Poets
Rita Dove, former U.S. Poet Laureate and editor of the newly released The Penguin Anthology of Twentieth-Century American Poetry, reads and discusses her selection of best poems to come out of this country in the last hundred years. She weaves a storyline that begins with groundbreaking writers like T.S. Eliot and Williams Carlos Williams, moves through the Beats and Ginsberg and the New York School, and ends as our current literary age begins. There's also a promise of special guests, which is rather intriguing if you consider all the great poets whose work is compiled in the book.
