Dir. Shari Springer Berman & Robert Pulcini (2003). This jazzy synthesis of Harvey Pekars autobiographical comix is clever, engaging, and cannily faux populistcomplete with a tidily upbeat closer. The movie pivots on the confrontational appearances Pekar made on Letterman in the late 80sjust one of the ways his Underground Man doubles as his own press agent.
