AND THEY'RE OFF!
Whether your idea of a well-bred horse is Dialed In (a favorite to win the 137th Run for the Roses) or Craig Ferguson's two-men-in-a-silly-horse-suit Secretariat, Derby Day is cause for a party. The folks at the Bell House do a great job of providing a forum for live music, and today they are hosting an all-day party to celebrate the most popular thoroughbred race of the year. The music starts at 1 p.m., with free square-dancing lessons at 3 p.m. Then, at 5 p.m., bugler Ryan Resky will lead the Call to the Post, and the quintet the Nouvellas will sing "My Old Kentucky Home." The Bell Room has a bar with a dozen draft beers and some lip-smacking cocktailsincluding a mean Mint Julep. And we highly recommend the Kentucky Beer Cheese with Ritz Crackers. The fun goes well into the night with a live band karaoke until 11 p.m. And if you forget your hata true Derby necessity for the ladiesa real milliner will be on the premises (there will be prizes for best dressed!)
