Shortly after recreating the sonic spectacle of Fela Kuti's amazing Afrika 70 and 80 bands onstage at the Eugene O'Neill Theater, the Afrobeat collective will jet home to Williamsburg and create a Shrine of their own. Fronted by the shamanic Amayo, the twelve-piece, horn-driven juggernaut has crossbred Fela's vamp-solo-rant template with rock, jazz, salsa, and minimalism, with sweaty and incendiary results.
