English indie rock outfit Art Brut owes their success to Eddie Argos's eyebrows. How else to explain the popularity of singles such as "Formed a Band," which boasts the intent to write a song so revolutionary, Israel and Palestine will reunite? Erring, always, on the side of ironic detachment, their latest record, Art Brut vs. Satan, got the magic touch from producer Frank Black, as Argos speech-sings his diccontent over AA, Peter Pan syndrome, and crappy summer jobs. It's mixed with an energetic novelty even the Hives can't muster.
