BACK TO BLACC
Let this be resolved, once and for all: That song is called "I Need a Dollar," and it's sung by Aloe Blacc. There! Isn't that a weight off? That ubiquitous, instantly recognizable r&b track has been everywhere in the past year, from the opening credits of HBO's How to Make It in America to scores of commercials and movies, and Blacc's palatable croon holds up every time. The Orange County, California, singer continues to tour in support of sophomore disc Good Things, a smart and sultry fix of jazz-tinged soul and catchy club pop. And he even croons in Spanish sometimes! What's more money than that? With Tutu Sweeney & the Brothers Band.
