"This series contains nudity, violence, and strong sexual content" warns Japan Society’s website about its new film program, Love Will Tear Us Apart. Indeed, this weekend and next, you can find films about infidelity (Jung Ji-woo’s 1999 Happy End), vengeful pimps (Kim Ki-duk’s 2002 Bad Guy), and destructive sexual desire (Nagisa Oshima’s 1976 In the Realm of the Senses). Friday’s film is Lee Sang-il's Villain (2010), which concerns two lonely people who meet on a matchmaking website. Trouble is, one of them is on the run for murder.
Mondays-Sundays, 7:30 p.m. Starts: March 9. Continues through March 18, 2012
