'Basic' w/ Speedy J

When rave first blew up in Rotterdam, the sounds inspired hip-hop fan Jochem Paap to create some of the 1990s’ most respected techno: Speedy J’s “Ginger” found a place on Warp’s seminal compilation, Artificial Intelligence, while eternal-earworm “Pullover” helped anchor Richie Hawtin’s Plus 8 label. He has since oscillated between grueling experiments (the electro-decay of “Public Energy #1”) and straightforward techno (including his collaborations with Chris Liebing). Expect tonight’s set to reveal both his recent sub-bass excursions and the enduring skills that have kept fans dancing for nearly 20 years. With Ed Pulido and residents Sleepy & Boo.
