Battle of the Bands
Everyone from Feist to Tom Jones has covered the disco hits of the BeeGees, but perhaps no one does those gooey soft-rock numbers better than Tragedy, three shaggy-haired men who perform frenzied, screaming, heavy-metal renditions of everything from "Stayin' Alive" to "How Deep Is Your Love." Tonight they bring their shiny costumes, dramatic eye makeup, and head-banging hilarity to the ultimate cover-band showdown Tribute Wars XX at B.B. King's, featuring Unchained (Van Halen), Theater of Pain (Mötley Crüe), and Kiss Nation (Kiss). No love for metal bands? Check out the 3 p.m. show at the Highline Ballroom with the Conspiracy of Beards, a 30-member a capella male choir devoted to the music of Leonard Cohen. At 3, Highline Ballroom, 431 West 16th Street, highlineballroom.com; at 8, B.B. King's, 237 W 42nd St.
Sat., March 22, 3 & 8 p.m., 2008
