The '60s soul vet has played all manner of rooms (including the Kennedy Center and the Lincoln Memorial) since 2005's I've Got My Own Hell to Raise rescued her from the cult of record-collector obscurity. In this one, expect LaVette to emphasize her sense of pathos rather than her raw-power vocals.
