BETWEEN THE LINES
The always-excellent Happy Ending Music and Reading series tonight welcomes the celebrated writer Colson Whitehead (The Intuitionist, John Henry Days), whose new novel, Sag Harbor, will be out at the end of April. A former columnist and critic for the Voice, Whitehead insists that he and Benjithe teen protagonist of Sag Harbor, who spends his summers in the African-American enclave of the Hamptons away from his predominantly white prep-school peersare nothing alike, even though their biographies sound similar. Either way, were just happy that Benjier, we mean Whiteheadwill be at this program, along with writers Kevin Wilson and Amy Cohen and singer-banjoist Sam Amidon.
