This year, the 2014 Whitney Biennial makes history as the last in the museum’s uptown location before it moves into a new, chromatic, High Line–accessible gallery structure in the Meatpacking District. For this 77th edition, there’s already buzz about HowDoYouSayYaminAfrican?, a New York–based troupe of 38 artists exploring ways race affects the black queer identity, and the largest of the eight collectives presenting work this year. See their debut at today’s Biennial kickoff.
Fridays, 1 p.m.; Wednesdays-Sundays, 11 a.m. Starts: March 7. Continues through May 25, 2014
