The inaugural NCAA Men's Lacrosse Big City Classic is the first time that lacrosse has been played at Giants Stadium. And the action promises to be top-notch. The six teams invited to play—including last year's champ Syracuse (whose most famous lacrosse All-America was Jim Brown) and current leader Virginia—have reached the NCAA semifinals a combined 67 times and won 24 NCAA championships. Bob Carpenter, publisher of sponsor Inside Lacrosse magazine, says, "Nothing on this large a scale has been organized for the lacrosse spectator experience. . . . It will be more than coming to watch a couple games—it will be a festival."
