Williamsburgs French Horn Rebellion—the band, not some late, inexplicable Steampunk offshoot—were a hot ticket during CMJ, not least because the festival came on the heels of their most surprising single yet, Brasilia Girl. After establishing themselves as some vein of jammy, extra-disco MGMT in their short tenure together, this was an alarming switch: a broad, atmospheric, consuming epic. These brothers, Robert Perlick-Molinari (lead vocals, synths, and, yep, French horn) and David Perlick-Molinari (vocals, programming, keyboards), freely follow their own pulse; leaks of debut The Infinite Music of French Horn Rebellion (out November 15) display quite alluring promise.
