Working Theater keeps on truckin’. Literally. With his new play, La Ruta, Ed Cardona Jr. follows a group of immigrants as they make a risky attempt to steal across the U.S. border. In the service of verisimilitude (or to avoid those pesky theater rental fees), director Tamilla Woodard will stage the action in the trailer and cab of an actual flatbed truck, which will travel to all five boroughs. Planned locations for this Magnum Foundation production include the Cathedral Church of Saint John the Divine, the Snug Harbor Cultural Center and Botanical Garden, and UFT Bronx Borough Office. As the play practically makes the commute for you, why not buy a ticket or two? Just remember to bring proper documentation.
Wed., April 10, 8 p.m.; Mondays-Sundays, 8 p.m. Starts: April 10. Continues through May 12, 2013
