CALLING PLANET EARTH
What gives, N.A.S.A.? No, not about the Martians—theyre coming, were doomed, we get that. Rather, why did last years Spirit of the Apollo, the debut album by this top-shelf hip-hop duo—which featured knockout cameos from literally three dozen stars in the cosmos (David Byrne, Tom Waits, Kanye West, M.I.A., Santigold, Seu Jorge, and George Clinton, to name a few) fall so quickly from dance-floor gravitational pull? N.A.S.A. members Squeak E. Clean and DJ Zegon (the acronym stands for North America South America) curated one hell of a poetry slam between these unlikely artists, and its a pity the record never reached its due hysteria. Show these guys some love—they went above and beyond for this record. With Hollywood Holt and Fatlip.
