Despite a 17-year gap between records, the gore-obsessed melodic death-metal crew Carcass defied the odds set by most comeback LPs by releasing Surgical Steel, a slab of vicious, thrashy extreme metal that doesn't besmirch their legacy. Moreover the band, who reunited in 2007, sounds just as bloodthirsty as any of the progeny they spawned in the intervening years. Tonight, they reward their fans' patience with what is sure to be a sweaty celebration in a venue that is unusually tiny for a band who last played the Best Buy Theater.
