Many believe in the power of art as a healing process or coping mechanism. Those (all) of us still traumatized by the Florida voting-booth fiasco of the 2000 presidential election might find some therapy in The Voting Booth Project. The Rema Hort Mann Foundation got their hands on five West Palm Beach County booths and commissioned five artists to do something with them: Sanford Biggers, Marcel Dzama, Mickalene Thomas, assume vivid astro focus, and Fred Tomaselli have tinkered with the machines that first brought "hanging chads" and "butterfly ballots" into our national lexicon. Catch it while you can: The exhibition at Zwirner closes tomorrow and will appear at Lehmann Maupin on November 7 and 8.
Tuesdays-Saturdays, 10 a.m. Starts: Oct. 14. Continues through Oct. 25, 2008
