Chicago's Cave are a mathy, minimalist adventure that somehow balances the speediest art-metal grooves with tweaky, cheeky electro-kraut. Jammy, trippy, heavy, and psyched-to-the-max like their "acknowledged inspirers" Oneida, Cave never met a groove they couldn't stretch to the breaking point. Openers the Tanks are fellow Midwesterners and are as monolithic as their name impliesa chunky vintage AmRep gurglechug that will be a fine substitute if you couldn't get into the Jesus Lizard show.
