Have your iPhones out and at the ready. No need to hide them under tables or make conspicuous trips to the restroom. At this trivia night, cheating is not only allowed but encouraged. John Hodgman’s Trivia Night for Cheaters ranks contestants in two separate groups — those that score the most points (aka the obvious cheaters) and those that answer the most questions in an honest and upstanding way. The author and self-described “famous minor television personality” will administer 25 questions to 25 teams of five in this massive quizbowl. Grand prizes include VIP tickets to The Daily Show and NPR’s Ask Me Another. All money raised goes toward 826 NYC’s literacy program, which helps kids develop writing and language skills so that in the future they won’t have to cheat at trivia.
