Starting a dozen years ago as a side project of ska group La Floripondio, little big band Chico Trujillo has evolved into Chile's most ambitious party concoction. Bumptious horns, twangy guitar, and a barnstorming attitude combine the best of two or three generations of Chilean music. Chicha Libre's new Canabalismo offers a brilliantly idiosyncratic Franco-Brooklyn take on the danceable joys of Peruvian cumbia amazonica.
