You might remember him for fronting a certain grunge band that's not Nirvana or Pearl Jam. Then, his full-throated vocal exercises capped their sound well. His run-in with Rage Against the Machine looked good on paper and moved lotsa CDs and, while his third solo album with Timbaland looks good on paper also, it sounded like the kind of faceless pop-dance you hoped that he'd never fall for, great voice or not. Pray that he digs into his Soundgarden catalog for these gigs.
