Octogenarian six-string god Chuck Berry defined rock on hits such as "Johnny B. Goode" and "Sweet Little Sixteen"--not to mention rock excess on his fluke novelty single and sole No. 1, "My Ding-a-Ling." He hasn't had a hit since then, but he said in a recent Rolling Stone article that he has a lot of new songs with new sounds he wants to release. Nonetheless, he'll be ding-a-linging in the New Year tonight with two performances of hits at B.B. King Blues Club & Grill, in the beyond New Year's Eve location of Times Square (so plan ahead, unless you like barricades more than Chuck Berry.)
