O rganizers of Make Music New York say this year’s edition of the annual festival—which brings live music to venues in all five boroughs on the first day of summer—will encompass more than 1,000 free outdoor concerts. Meaning? You’re destined to miss some good stuff. That said, some shows loom larger than others, including the great gospel duo Mary Mary at the Prospect Park Bandshell, Slavic Soul Party! at Jacobi Medical Center, and an 18-hour rendition (on vibraphone) of Erik Satie’s “Vexations” at the corner of Broad and Wall streets. There’s also the premiere in Times Square of a new choral work by Philip Glass called “The New Rule.”
