Cold Cave+Converge+All Pigs Must Die
With 20 years of aggressive, chaotic underground hardcore to their name, Converge are a menacing group to be headlining a show at this pop-up skate park. Each of the groups seven full-lengths showcases a unique combination of frontman Jacob Bannons wounded-animal howls and guitarist Kurt Ballous dissonant string abuse (yes, these are compliments), and this is Converges last concert before beginning work on a new paean to punishment, a fact that underscores the urgency of tonights show. Were things not tense enough, the first opener is an equally angry sounding ensemble called All Pigs Must Die, who will be followed by the comparatively out-of-place synth-pop of Cold Cave.
