Collaborating with writer Stephen King, Romero proves adept at combining thrills with tongue-in-cheek humor in this tribute to EC horror comics. At least for a whilethis portmanteau picture consisting of five ghoulish stories is uneven and at least two of them are overlong and weakly derivative.
