When critical acclaim dries up and the other members of your indie-rock band split, there's no shame in funneling your creative pop energy into penning children's songs. Like They Might Be Giants, former Del Fuegos singer Dan Zanes has this figured out. Unlike that band, though, he figured it out early enough that he might be better known for being that avuncular, casually retro kid's show host who peels off edutainment-lite ditties full of sweet blues licks. So while garage gloom is no longer Zanes's forte, there's still a lot for you and your preschooler to dig about his astonishingly deep catalog of goofy sing-a-longs.
