A roiling sax and piano quintet, his famed brass outfit, and a new group with Ravi Coltrane and Vijay Iyer beckon. But it’s the brass and percussion group that’s most intriguing: Featuring everything from marimba to musical saw, it should give his horn an ever-shifting landscape in which to wander.
