Sure, New Yorks a violent town but it seems odd how many of our geographical locales have Kills in their name. (Oh, its Dutch for stream"? Who knew!) The most famous is Fresh Kills the local landfill that inspires Elyzabeth Gregory Wilder. Her play concerns a Staten Island family and the teenage boy who bedevils them.
