Deadlier Than the Male
(Julien Duvivier, 1955).
Duvivier serves up a grim slice of life in this tale of a predatory young girl whose neurosis leads to tragedy. The great Jean Gabin is a congenial Parisian restaurateur, first guy on the hit list of Daniele Delorme, a female cobra on a course of ruthless aggression against all men. It's a taut drama, garnished with tasty scenes involving French cuisine.
