In this city of endless eateries, can you imagine voluntarily giving up all your favorite restaurants to cook at home every day? For two years, Cathy Erway did just that, preparing all her meals at home and then, yes, writing about her findings on her blog (NotEatingOutInNY.com) and publishing a brand-new book. Tonight, join the savvy cook at the launch party for The Art of Eating In, which includes thrifty recipes perfected in her kitchen. There will also be a Bruschetta Takedown (a contest for amateur chefs to experiment with bruschetta recipes) and tasty appetizers. A portion of the ticket sales go to benefit Just Food and Oxfam relief efforts in Haiti.
