Some believe that the way you spend the first day of January will dictate the rest of your year. Take that advice to heart by heading to the annual New Year’s Day Swim in Coney Island, a quick, icy plunge in the Atlantic Ocean, spearheaded by the fearless members of the Polar Bear Club. The organizers suggest you come prepared with warm clothes, surf boots, old sneakers, and a camera (you’re going want to boast about this later). Plus, it’s a great cure for that New Year’s Eve hangover.
