The sounds of both Nashville and Muscle Shoals suffuse Go-Go Boots, the fine new album by this reliably scorching rock band that has backed soulful efforts by Booker T. Jones and Bettye LaVette. As always, the Truckers balance glory and gory with the hopeful testifying of "Mercy Buckets" and "I Do Believe," a relatively optimistic antidote to Patterson's riveting story songs about homicidal husbands and toxic family get-togethers.
