If movies screened on rooftops and free Shakespeare in every park aren't enough only-in-New-York summer traditions for you, now you can swim in dumpsters. This most creative way of surviving the record heat is hitting the east side of Park Avenue in Midtown in the form of three 8-x-22-foot-wide trash bins, sterilized and repurposed by development firm MacroSea. Even Bill Murray has taken a dip in one of them for a spot on the Late Show With David Letterman. With that kind of endorsement, why worry about all the cooties?
