These days, any stage appearance by Sherlock Holmes is rather uncanny, though in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, he frequently trod the boards. But this appearance, in The Uncanny Appearance of Sherlock Holmes, ought to be more uncanny than most, when he of the deerstalker, violin, and cloak engages in acrobatics and investigates the murders of Nietzsche and Freud.
