'Experiments in Opera'
This mini-festival presents four unconventional operas from emerging composers: In "Happiness is the Problem," three women get rich selling a mood-elevating potion distilled from the discharge of slugs. In "Brother Brother," the Wrights get the operatic treatment in a metaphysical exploration of brotherhood. "To Scale" examines the god-like relationship between an architect and the miniature characters in her models. Finally, in "Borges and the Other," a fictional Jorge Luis Borges contemplates existential questions when he encounters himself in different stages of life.
