John Cassavetes staged his independent comeback with this journey-to-the-end-of-the-night account of middleaged swingers and their play-for-pay concubines. It's not exactly convincing stuff-although the performances (by Gena Rowlands and Seymour Cassell among others) could easily persuade you otherwise.
